What the students say about the project

Alesia Bullach
“I worked in the media night group, focusing on planning and coordinating with the team. I enjoyed collaborating and seeing our plans come together. The most challenging part was managing the timing, but the final result was a success, and I’m proud of our work.”

Patricia Hauser
“I work in the Media Night group (first group) and in the Shooting group (second group). Most of the time I brainstorm room ideas with my teammates and organize things for the Media Night. It´s challenging to develop a cohesive room concept that appears harmonious and doesn´t cost too much. We have many cool ideas but we need to focus on a few and pay attention to timing. I also helped during the first shooting day and I really like how the pictures turned out.”

“I worked in the Print & Post-Press team and made sure the book is printed, bound, trimmed and embellished in time. The schedule was tight, especially the last couple of weeks. If we had more time, I would’ve done a couple of things differently – such as opting for our offset printing press from the start. But hey, we made it! We feel like shit but the book looks great✨”

Fanny Mäkitalo
“I was in the production group. We decided the papers and also did screen printing for cover materials. I also tried to help with other decisions. Layout group changed a lot of their opinions so that caused us some extra works. Big thanks to Sam who’s been a great leader in our group!”

Sara Räikkönen
“I’m in printing group. For example I have chosen page papers and ordered all the samples via email. Done screen printing for the cover and decided many things together as a group. I dont have one favorite thing but overall I have liked learning about printing and it’s really interesting to me. Especially challenging is that I dont have that much experience of printing so most of the things are new to me. We don’t have the final result yet but for now I think it’s going to be great.”

Kristiina Rantakömi
“Production group, I was choosing the papers and did test screening printings for the cover. It was very nice to work with our group:)”

Damla Irmak
“As the Post-Production Manager, I’m incredibly proud of all the teams’ hard work and dedication on this project! Seeing everything come together has been an amazing journey, and I feel so lucky to have played a part in bringing the final vision to life. The collaboration, creativity, and passion behind this project truly shine through, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it!”

Lisa Englert
“I work in the Media Night group as the group manager. Together, we are planning the exhibition of our project. I really like the creative parts of this task, because we get to organize every detail. This can also be challenging at times, because you have to keep many factors in mind. I am looking forward to seeing the final results on the Media Night and hope that we can reach many people with our project!”

Sarah Mensing
“I worked in the shooting group, handling tasks like creating the collection list, coordinating with models on styling, developing the fashion brief, and organizing borrowed and purchased pieces. I also helped with logistics, such as reserving equipment, managing clothing returns, and bringing essentials to the shoot. What I enjoyed most was working together with students from different study courses and improving my english. Overall, I’m proud of the final result, as it showcases the team’s effort and creativity.”

LiLLY Brieden
“In the project, I had the special task of being the manager of the photoshoot group. Our work ran throughout November and December and was extremely intense in every respect. As the primary contact person for my group members, as well as for the photography team and the hair & make-up team, I enjoyed a lively exchange with a wide variety of people. Keeping an overview and looking after the well-being of the members was very fulfilling, even though it was exhausting for the social battery. I found it particularly challenging to create time and space for unscheduled to-do’s that required quick solutions, which we mastered successfully as a team. The project showed me how to stay agile. I am proud of the fact that we also managed to deal with sensitive issues and portray them. It’s important to talk about them, because the depicted problems in Ellis’ “American Psycho” are still omnipresent even after 30 years.”

Laura-Marie Dier
“I worked in the Media Night group, where we focused on creating a photo spot for capturing pictures, organizing an intriguing photo exhibition to showcase the amazing shots from our shoot, and much more. It was a challenge to stick to our schedule, especially with changes in plans and unforeseen issues, but in the end, I’m truly proud of our ideas and the incredible book we created.”
